After A Crisis

The hard thing if you believe that we, as a society need to be doing more to prevent crisis is that the public has a notoriously short attention span for crisis in terms of planets and the Earth.  Heck, it took Earth Day itself over 40 years to get to the point where the average American had any clue what day it actually was!

Moving forward, one of the main questions facing the scientific community in terms of preventing a catastrophic event, is how to keep the public’s attention long enough to gain the necessary funding that only comes with long term sustained public attention.
