I think we’re setting up a new normal when it comes to space exploration. No longer will the United States of America and Russia dominate the landscape. Instead, China, the EU and yes the once much maligned international space station are going to carry much of the load. Of course, given different budget ideas in Washington DC, things could change again quickly, after all America spends 40% of the world’s total on defense, it could easily do the same with space resarch and flight if it wanted to. As someone who owns a wine gift basket company I find the whole thing rather interesting because it helps me watch and see how a huge company, in this case the United States government chooses to spend its research and development dollars.
